HEY INTERN: Carolina Thread Trail

During the summer months, The Charlotte in 2012 Host Committee has given the opportunity to nearly 30 students/college graduates to intern for the host committee, providing them a chance to learn about how a convention is put together. From volunteer coordination to event planning to marketing, finance and communications, interns are not only learning about what it takes to put on a convention, but also play a considerable role in doing so.

We get asked to do a lot of things . . . and are happy to have been tasked with telling Charlotte’s story and giving our visitors a peek at what the Queen City has to offer. Check out the video about one of the Charlotte area’s recreational highlights, the Carolina Thread Trail.

Located mere minutes from the heart of Charlotte, the Carolina Thread Trail is a regional network that reaches over 2.3 million people in two different states and spans 15 counties and 7,300 square miles. It promotes better health and provides a keen understanding of what lives around us. More than just a path, it represents our history, our culture, and our wildlife.
