Dr. Dan Murrey is the Executive Director of the Committee for Charlotte 2012. He recently served a term as an at-large member of the Mecklenburg County Commission. For the last 13 years, he has been a leader and prominent surgeon at OrthoCarolina, one of the country’s most respected orthopedic practices with 900 Charlotte area employees, most recently serving as Chief Executive Officer. He is a graduate of Davidson College and Harvard University, where he received both a medical degree and a master’s in public policy from the JFK School of Government. He has received the highest honor bestowed upon Mecklenburg citizens, the Order of the Hornet.

Leah Chandler is the Deputy Finance Director of the Committee for Charlotte 2012. She has served as a key fundraiser on two U.S. Senate campaigns as well as holding the post of Midwest Finance Director for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC). Leah served as a member of the fundraising team for Sen. Maria Cantwell’s 2006 re-election campaign in Washington state and as Western Missouri Finance Director for Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan’s 2010 campaign for the U.S. Senate. In 2008, Leah served as the Midwest Finance Director, overseeing a 14 state region and contributing to a record breaking fundraising cycle for the DCCC in 2008. A native of Missouri, Leah is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia, where she received a BA in history and political science.

Stacey Harris is the Senior Event Coordinator for the Committee for Charlotte 2012. She most recently was the Arts Outreach Coordinator at Central Piedmont Community College, coordinating the schools week-long arts festival. Stacey lives in Indian Trail, NC with her husband and 2 children. She is a graduate of Wingate University where she received her degree in Sports Medicine.

Joe Kelley is the Northeast Finance Director of the Committee for Charlotte 2012. Previously, Joe worked with the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, spearheading their New York/Tri-State Area fundraising. In 2010, he served as the Finance Director to Richard Blumenthal's victorious campaign for U.S. Senate in Connecticut. Joe has worked for various other Democratic campaigns and causes, such Dan Hynes's 2010 bid for Governor of Illinois, Media Matters for America, and the Democracy Alliance. He graduated from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania and currently lives in New York City.

Tracy Russ is the Chief Marketing Officer for the Charlotte in 2012 Convention Host Committee, the local organizing entity for the 2012 Democratic National Convention.  He is also President and principal consultant of Russ Communications, Inc., a consulting practice providing strategic communications, media relations/publicity, cause and corporate social responsibility marketing, civic engagement, issue and political communications and arts-based outreach. to Fortune 500 corporations, governmental units and non-profit organizations. Mr. Russ has served as Executive Director of Crossroads Charlotte (www.crossroadscharlotte.com), a major non-profit civic engagement effort that has engaged thousands of people and organizations to Imagine Our Tomorrow, Act Today. He has created signature programs that include Get Real, KnowIt2Work It, the Crossroads Correspondents program, and pioneered the use of film and spoken word poetry to engage action around community issues. In 2009, he designed and facilitated a gathering of senior environmental leaders at the Cosmos Club in Washington, DC entitled America the Best.  He was nominated for a Southeast Regional Emmy in 2010 for "Crossroads Charlotte: The Movie" which was also selected as the featured work for the 2008 Sundance Arts & Civic Engagement Roundtable by Americans for the Arts and director Robert Redford.  Mr. Russ was named an American German Marshall Fund Fellow in 2003.He serves on the Founding Board of OnQ Productions, a major Southeast theater company dedicated to African-American theater, is on the Steering Committee of TEDxCharlotte and has been a featured speaker.

Mary Tribble is Chief of Event Planning for the Committee for Charlotte 2012. Prior to this position, she owned Tribble Creative Group, an event management company for 25 years. While leading the company, Tribble oversaw events around some of Charlotte's most memorable milestone events, including the NBA All-Star Game, the NCAA Final Four, and grand openings of many of the city's landmark buildings. She co-founded and led both the 2003 Forum for Corporate Conscience and the 2006 NC Conference for Women. She has been named Business Woman of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Woman of Distinction for Environmental Leadership, Top 25 Women in Business, and was inducted in the International Event Solutions Hall of Fame.
